North Bay is well connected to major urban markets in Canada and the United States via a network of transportation options, including roads, air and rail.

Just minutes from the downtown core, the municipally-owned YYB North Bay Jack Garland Airport (YYB) boasts the longest runway in Northern Ontario. With a main runway of 10,000 ft. in length, Category 1 instrument landing system, Canada Customs and flight service stations, YYB North Bay Jack Garland Airport attracts and accommodates aircrafts ranging in size from light trainers to wide-bodied “heavies” such as the Boeing 747 and Antonov 124.

High-capacity rail freight lines connect to major centres and make it possible to transfer heavy load, major volume materials quickly and efficiently. Canadian Pacific (CP) Railway, Canadian National (CN) Railway, and Ottawa Valley Railway (OVR) provide freight services to and from North Bay and are well-connected to the United States’ rail system and to all industrial areas in Canada.
